Hello everyone!

I am Sloan Kimball, a USCG licensed Captain and ASA instructor with Island Sailing. I have been a sailor most of my life.  I truly love being on the water, sailing, and the opportunity this brings to share this joy with others. 

I learned to sail on a Hobie 16, racing all over the PNW.  I never got very good, but had a great time.  I have owned plenty of boats in my life, but have found that Island Sailing and “other peoples boat” programs fit my passion best.

I am an active sailboat racer, serving as crew for several local skippers and in Island Sailing’s Performance Program.  I actively seek out opportunities to do sail charters in tropical environments.  This translates into multiple trips a year.

Being a sailing instructor is my passion, my hobby, not my “job”.  In my ‘real life’, I am a business executive/consultant.
